Description: Join the Connecticut Scuba Academy for a "Private Villa" style expedition to the island of Ustica. Known as the "Black Pearl," Ustica is Italy’s first Marine Protected Area and offers the best diving in the Mediterranean—caverns, Roman ruins, and massive schools of barracuda.
The Diving:
Volcanic Caverns: Explore the famous Grotta dei Gamberi (Shrimp Cave) and Grotta della Pastizza.
Roman History: Dive sites littered with ancient anchors and amphorae.
Big Life: Massive groupers, amberjacks, and barracuda tornadoes in crystal clear water.

* Pricing includes an airfare allowance of $1,250 per person. Due to the advance scheduling of this trip (2027), final airfare costs are subject to carrier availability. If the ticket price exceeds $1,250 at time of booking, the difference will be invoiced to the traveler. If we secure fares below this rate, the savings will be credited.
Ustica is a small Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is about 5 kilometres across and is situated 52 kilometres north of Capo Gallo, Sicily. Roughly 1,300 people live in the comune of the same name. There is a regular ferry service from the island to Palermo in Sicily.
