Pool 1: Foundations & Adaptation

Goal: Comfort, weighting, and basic survival. Zero-Gravity Concept introduced immediately.

  • Arrival (-0:15): Team Logistics

    • Meet at Van $\rightarrow$ Unload Gear $\rightarrow$ Transport to Pool Deck.

  • 0:00 – 0:30: Setup & Briefing

    • Assemble Scuba Units (Team Check).

    • Suit Up.

    • Briefing: Pool safety, flow, and hand signals.

  • 0:30 – 1:15: Watermanship & Adaptation (No Scuba)

    • Swim Evaluation: 200m non-stop swim OR 300m snorkeling swim.

    • Survival Float: 10 minutes.

    • Snorkel Skills: Blast clearing and Regulator/Snorkel exchange.

  • 1:15 – 2:45: Essential Scuba Skills (Shallow)

    • Weight Check: Surface check (eye-level float).

    • Neutral Buoyancy (FIRST SKILL): Introduction to "The Hover." Students learn to lift off the bottom using breath control immediately. No fin pivots; no kneeling.

    • Regulator: Recovery & Clearing (Sweep/Blast).

    • Mask: Partial clear (Introduction to nose breathing).

    • BCD: Surface inflation/deflation.

  • 2:45 – 3:30: Movement & Trim

    • Finning: Frog kick introduction (preventing silt stir-up).

    • Body Position: Maintaining horizontal trim while swimming.

  • 3:30 – 4:00: Breakdown & Load-Out

    • Disassemble gear $\rightarrow$ Rinse $\rightarrow$ Pack $\rightarrow$ Load Van.
